Treating water to make it safe to drink
After water has been abstracted, it undergoes several types of treatment in order to make it safe to drink.
Case studies
City of Calgary, Alberta Bearspaw Water Treatment Plant
At Bearspaw, John Meunier will supply six Actiflo® clarifiers (total capacity 586,000 m3/d.), polymer metering systems and control systems.
City of Calgary, Alberta Glenmore Water Treatment Plant
In phase 1 of the Glenmore project, John Meunier will supply four Actiflo® clarifiers with a total capacity of 400,000 m3/d. In phase 2, two additional Actiflo® clarifiers will be installed, bringing the total capacity to 550,000 m3/d.
Town of Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba Water Treatment Plant
In 2002, a new water treatment plant was built, with the main treatment process consisting of one Actiflo® clarifier, two Dusenflo® filters.
Beauharnois Water Plant
John Meunier Inc. proposed the installation of AWI stainless steel filter underdrains in the existing filters.
City of Red Deer, Alberta Water Treatment Plant
The Actiflo® process was tested and selected for its small footprint and its outstanding performance at removing organic carbon.
